The 2020/20201 NBA Season Starts on 22nd December
Lebron James, Anthony Davis and The Los Angeles Lakers will begin the defence of their NBA title when the new season starts on the 22nd December. There have been some big trades, free agent signings, and the rookie draft all within the two months since last season ended. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, this season has been reduced to 72 games instead of the usual 82. However, that will not reduce the action or excitement, and could even make each game feel more important.
The NBA successfully completed the end of the previous season by enclosing all team, players, and staff within the NBA bubble in Disneyworld. This should give everyone confidence that the NBA and everyone involved will be able to successfully complete the upcoming season with minimal or no disruption.
In addition to the LA Lakers, the favourites for the title are the Brooklyn Nets, Milwaukee Bucks and LA Clippers. Some dark horse contenders include the Denver Nuggets and Boston Celtics. So, will the Lakers win 2 titles in a row, or will a new team take their crown? We won’t know until the NBA playoff schedule is completed in July 2021.
